Hamilton Moves lead their Official Launch on Friday, October 12, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School.

Hamilton Moves is a grow grant initiative from the Ontario Trillium Foundation and focuses on providing training in physical literacy concepts to coaches, parents, caregivers, educators, and volunteers through a multi-sectoral partnership with the City of Hamilton - Recreation Services Department, the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board, Sport for Life, and SportHamilton. 

During the 2017-2018 school year, we challenged schools within the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board (HWCBSD) to participate in the Active Recess Challenge, whereby students and teachers aim to move more during recess. 

After a considerable effort from all schools involved, St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School came out on top and was honoured with equipment worth $3000 to help keep them active and engaged.
