HAMILTON MOVES is a collaborative project funded by Ontario Trillium Foundation that brings together SportHamilton, City of Hamilton Recreation, City of Hamilton Public Health Services, Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board and Sport for Life, to build upon the work being done around Physical Literacy for children in the Hamilton community.

Together, our vision is to improve physical literacy and enhance opportunities for physical activity, quality sport, and recreation to make the City of Hamilton one of the healthiest communities in Canada.

Our goals for the next three years include:

  • Train 2000 coaches and volunteers to provide high quality Physical Literacy programming with our partner, Sport for Life.
  • Provide 20,000 parents with communication about Physical Literacy.
  • Engage 300,000 people through social media.
  • Result: 75,000 children aged 0 – 10 having improved confidence, competence, and motivation to be physically active for life.
