'Hamilton Moves' Project Managerial Services Required

Temporary Part-Time Managerial Services required by SportHamilton to carry out ‘Hamilton Moves’ Physical Literacy Project

 

Overview:

 

SportHamilton, the Official Sport Council for the City of Hamilton is the lead on the ‘Hamilton Moves’ Physical Literacy Project. Reporting directly to the President of SportHamilton and indirectly to the Board of Directors for SportHamilton as necessary, project manager services are required to oversee this project.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

  • communication of Physical Literacy within Hamilton
  • organize and establish Physical Literacy training for Hamilton sport groups and their constituents (teachers, coaches, athletes, parents) as per the Physical Literacy grant using the resources provided by Sport4Life
  • administrative and logistical support for the project as well as planning and promoting of all events relating to the project
  • track and maintain records of all training using established document format
  • maintain and update social media and website content regarding this project, utilizing and updating the SportHamilton communication channels
  • manage budget/finances under the direction and approval of SportHamilton treasurer and president
  • submit monthly invoices for hours and receipts for expenses including mileage

Knowledge & Skills:

  • extensive knowledge and experience of physical literacy, physical activities and grassroots multi sports programming for children  
  • strong written and oral communication skills
  • high degree of autonomy, self-direction and flexibility in prioritizing and managing tasks
  • considerable judgment, tact, creativity, and initiative to solve problems

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and experience with sports marketing, management, coaching
  • project management experience and education is an asset

Additional Requirements

  • incumbent will be able to use personal or reasonably available resources for cellular communication, computing, internet access, printing and city-wide transportation
  • flexibility in work hours and be able to sign a contract for a 3-year term
  • vulnerable Sector Police Check

Contract terms

  • remuneration and hours worked will be negotiated and based on experience
  • 3-year contract to begin September 5, 2017. Performance reviews will be conducted at the end of 6 months, and annually
