The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is thrilled that the Pan/Parapan American Games will be returning to Canada in 2015 and enthusiastically congratulates Toronto and the Greater Golden Horseshoe on its excellent winning bid. Today, the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO) selected Toronto over Bogota, Colombia and Lima, Peru during its General Assembly in Guadalajara, Mexico. The first-ballot vote saw Toronto win with 33 votes, with Lima receiving 11 and Bogota seven. Read more here |

Toronto will host the 2015 Pan Am Games after beating out two rival South American cities. The decision came down today in Guadalajara, Mexico, where a team including Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty and Toronto Mayor David Miller made their last pitch to host the games. Read more here |

It's mission accomplished for Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty, Toronto Mayor David Miller and all other members of the delegation supporting Toronto's bid to host the 2015 Pan Am Games. On the first ballot of Friday's vote in Guadalajara, Mexico, Toronto was tapped as the host city. "Our commitment, our pledge, our undertaking, our promise is to provide you with the best Pan Am Games ever," McGuinty told delegates after the results were announced.
